Addiction Treatment Program Reflection October 24th, I visited Bridgeway Recovery Center in Salem. This is a big program that helps people with serious addiction, either substance addiction or gambling addiction. And it is the second of the 100 best nonprofit Oregon business in 2015. The building is separate in two parts: the resident treatment center â€Å"Harold Drive† and the gambling and community service center â€Å"Santiam House†. Both buildings are safe, confidential, and therapeutic. The whole treatment program is divided into three parts: residential medical program, outpatient program, and correction program. This program strongly emphasizes freewill, so people can choose whether they go to counseling, do the medical detoxification, continue the treatment programs or not. New comers of substance abuse will stay at Harold Drive for 45-60 days and receive mainly medical treatment. They will have different weekly schedules when they are at different stages (i.e. foundation, integration, and transition). Then they will move to Santiam House and join different outpatient programs based on their needs which focus more on mental health. And correction program will help each individual reconnect to the right track, such as looking for jobs, reunited with family and friends, and other things that can help people back to the normal life. Observation Residents in Santiam House tend to be more talkative, energetic, and smile more.
